If you type SAVE and press ENTER Save Drawing As dialogue window opens just as if you started Save As command and yo can choose location and name of your drawing file, but in this case the file is saved under a new name, but you will continue to work on the original file! This enables you to create a backup copy of your drawing with a new name every time and continue to work on the original drawing file.įor example: you are working with a dwg called Project1.dwg and after some time you want to create backup copy so you can go back if you don’t like results of your work. So, why would you use this special SAVE command anyway? Because it works in opposite to Save As (or SAVEAS if you like to type commands). ![]() Ok, what’s the catch? First: this SAVE command does not exist in AutoCAD LT! This SAVE command must be typed – that’s the only way to start it. Just type it (in dynamic prompt or classic command line)
